Jeju Air aircraft with 181 people on board has crash-landed, with all but two persons presumed dead.

When the plane crashed, it collided with a wall at Muan International Airport in Muan County and exploded.

“Jeju Air will spare no effort to respond to the accident,” Jeju Air said in a statement.

“We are currently working to determine the exact cause and details of the situation,” an official of Jeju Air said. “The aircraft has been in operation for 15 years with no history of accidents.”

South Korean authorities confirmed 96 dead so far.

On its website, the airline wore a mournful look this morning with all its flight itinerary taken except for few words of gloom.

“We deeply apologize to all those affected by the incident at Muan Airport. We will make every effort to resolve the situation. We sincerely regret the distress caused,” said the statement posted on Jeju Air’s website.

When it veered off the runway, the Jeju Air flight was coming from Bangkok and was trying to land at Muan International Airport.

Jeju Air CEO said supporting the bereaved would be a top priority “now.”
