Destiny’s Child and Justin Timberlake are both making surprise comebacks.
Timberlake, who gave up music for acting after his 2006 albumFutureSex/LoveSounds sold more than 10 million copies, announced his return to singing in a video posted on YouTube today.
In it he claims music means more to him than anybody else in the world and hints at a future record.
“As close as I get to it I don’t know that I can physically torture myself that much year in and year out and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does and the way that it is right now,” he says.
“I don’t want to put anything out that I feel is something I don’t love. You just don’t get that every day. You have to wait for it.”
The video then cuts to Timberlake in a recording studio about to launch into a vocal take.
“I’m ready,” he says
Making bad music didn’t seem to bother him so much when he was fronting ‘N Sync.
Meanwhile, Destiny’s Child have announced a new single to coincide with their upcoming compilation Love Songs.
Nuclear was produced by Pharrell and recorded by Beyonce, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland.
There was no hint of it signalling a full comeback for the group.
