Distressed jeans are jeans that have intentionally been damaged to look old and worn out. The distress can be caused by friction, by bleach, or by ripping up portions of the fabric. There are different ways of acquiring a pair of distressed jeans; you can buy an authentic “old” pair, you can damage your own jeans, or you can buy a pair of already distressed jeans. Distressed jeans are characterized by strategically placed holes of different sizes and long thin tears at the knees or cuffs. These tears are usually frayed so that they continue to age over time, giving the jeans an authentic vintage look. So what do you think? Are you as in love with this trend as I am? Or do you think that this is just an excuse for people to walk around in torn jeans? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. Toodles.
