Foodclique Support Initiative, a non-governmental organisation gathered yesterday, May 27, 2015 to celebrate the children’s day with children of Ebute Elefun,Sura, Lagos Island.
In commemoration of the day, the hunger eradicating organisation distributed over 500 packed gifts items to the children. The event was filled with merriment and educationally inspiring talk delivered by the duo of Foodclique Support Initiative brand ambassador cum popular nollywood actors Onilegbale Rilwan Alesh and Sunny Ali. They were also on hand to help distribute the gift items to the children.
On the occasion of the event, the president of the organisation Fadipe Bolajoko Stressed that not enough attention is given to hunger hence government needs to do more in eradicating hunger in the society. He further stressed that children are the most vulnerable to this social problem and no child can learn with an empty stomach.
In addition, the media director of the organisation, Adetola Adeola Faruk described hunger as a global problem which is a front burner issue in advance countries and that the Nigerian government should see it as such. He urged the incoming administration to declare a state of emergency on hunger in a society that close to 70% of the population live in poverty according to UNDP Multidimensional Poverty Index (MDI) report on  Nigeria.
The organisation is providing free school meal to school children weekly in some selected schools within Lagos Mainland as their contribution to a hunger free nation.
