Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has responded to a viral video falsely claiming she is HIV positive. The video, created by Olaoluwa Segun, listed her among five Nigerian actors allegedly living with the virus, sparking widespread attention online.
Reacting via a video on her Instagram page, Amusa explained that the rumor stemmed from a post she shared back in 2019. She clarified that the post, which was meant to raise awareness about HIV and encourage people to get tested, was taken out of context.
She confirmed that she is HIV negative and emphasized that the original post was intended to educate the public, not to make any personal health revelations. Frustrated by the misinformation, Amusa expressed her anger over being misrepresented and said she intends to take legal action against the content creator for spreading false information. She described the situation as reckless and damaging, and stated her determination to hold the individual accountable.
