Afrobeat superstar Davido has thrown his weight behind the growing movement demanding the release of outspoken social media personality VeryDarkMan from detention.
According to NAIJALOG, the controversial critic was taken into custody by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday. While the reason behind his arrest remains undisclosed, it came shortly after he publicly revealed plans to visit a GTBank branch in Abuja to report suspicious deductions from his mother’s account.
It is still unclear whether the arrest occurred inside or outside the bank premises.
VeryDarkMan’s detention has since ignited widespread reactions online, with both fans and fellow celebrities rallying for his freedom.
Joining the chorus, Davido took to X (formerly Twitter) to express support and highlight the positive influence VeryDarkMan has had on others:
