Popular Nigerian musician David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has sharply reacted to the significant presence of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, ahead of the impending gubernatorial election. The artist, a vocal supporter of his uncle, incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, boldly predicted another defeat for the opposition party.
APC Stalwarts Descend on Osogbo
The state capital became a hub of political activity as top APC figures converged for a mega rally designed to bolster the party’s chances in Saturday’s poll. Among the prominent attendees were Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and more than ten state governors from the ruling party. Notable governors present included Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, and Uba Sani of Kaduna State, signaling a united front from the APC.
Former Osun State Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, played a key role in welcoming the high-powered delegation. He subsequently shared updates on his official social media channels, highlighting the arrival and strength of the party leadership.
Davido’s Defiant Prediction
Responding to Oyetola’s post, Davido, whose family has a direct stake in the upcoming election, reposted the update with a defiant message. He declared, “If you like gather Jesus 12 disciples o ma LULE for the 3rd time” (meaning: If you like, gather Jesus’s 12 disciples, you will lose for the 3rd time). This strong statement reiterates his confidence in his uncle’s re-election bid and dismisses the APC’s efforts to sway voters.
The musician’s intervention adds a celebrity dimension to the already charged political atmosphere in Osun State, with both major parties pulling out all stops in the final days before the crucial governorship election.
