David Alaba is set to depart Real Madrid CF as a free agent once his current contract runs out.
The Austrian defender, who joined the club after a successful stint in Germany, is nearing the end of his deal, with strong indications that he will not be signing an extension.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Friday, “David Alaba, expected to leave Real Madrid as a free agent, as reported since November. Several clubs already approached the Austrian defender, out of contract at Real Madrid.”
With his contract expiring, Alaba is expected to draw significant interest from clubs during the upcoming transfer window.
Before joining Madrid, Alaba built an impressive career at FC Bayern Munich, where he spent over a decade, winning multiple Bundesliga titles and two UEFA Champions League trophies in 2013 and 2020.
He moved to Real Madrid in 2021 on a free transfer and quickly established himself as a key leader in the club’s defence.
