Nigerians planning to build houses will soon heave a sigh of relief , as Dangote Cement have announced plans to increase production capacity in the company’s three key plants in the country and also simplify its distribution network all in a bid to crash the price of cement in the country and make the products available to all Nigerians.

President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, disclosed this  at a recent customers’ forum held in Kano State.

Alhaji Dangote said: “Nigerians that the era of hike in cement will soon be over, pointing out that his company had concluded plans to expand the capacity of its production lines in Obajana, Kogi state, Gboko, Benue state, and Ibese, Ogun state, from the current 19.25 million metric tonnes (mmt) by additional 9 million tons by the end of the year.”

Dangote further noted that the expansion will move the production output of the three manufacturing plants to about 28 million tonnes, which will place his company as the biggest cement production in Africa.

As regards promoting effective and efficient distribution of the products, the industrialist hinted that the management of the company will engage the operators of the truck conveying the products to circulation points across the country, with the view to making them available, stressing that this will translate into price reduction.

In his justification of the production of the new 42.5 grade of cement in the country, the richest man in Africa posited that the move was borne out of the quest to save the nation from the national embarrassment of mounting incidents of building collapse, with its attendance loss of lives and property.

Also speaking, Group Executive Director, Sales and Marketing of Dangote Group, Knut Ulvmoen, said the company was poised to boosting business relationship with all its distributors and dealers.

He stressed that the company was essentially interested in extending its products to all parts of the northern states, so as to enable people in the region benefit from the fact the founder of the company is from the region.
