British-Nigerian actor Damson Idris has openly embraced his identity as a proud “mummy’s boy.”
The award-winning actor shared during an interview with Kiss FM in London that he’s no longer embarrassed by the label. Instead, he now wears it as a badge of honor.
He praised his mother for being his greatest supporter and the inspiration behind everything he does. According to Idris, his ultimate ambition is to make her proud.
In his words:
“I am a mummy’s boy. Big time. I am not ashamed to admit it anymore. It used to be kind of like – ‘ah, he’s a mummy’s boy.’ I am actually proud of myself on it. That woman is the reason why I exist. She is my biggest fan and I’m her biggest fan,” he said.“She is the one I want to make proud, and I relate to Joshua [a movie character] in that sense, too, because he just wants to make his mother proud and be the best and win a championship. And hopefully I can win a championship in whatever way I can, too.”
