Cristiano Ronaldo, the forward for Al Nassr, has backed Real Madrid to win this year’s UEFA Champions League.
Madrid, the reigning champions after defeating Borussia Dortmund in last season’s final, have faced challenges in Europe this season. They have accumulated just nine points from six games, currently sitting 20th in the group phase, and are four points behind an automatic spot in the knockout rounds.
Ronaldo commented, “It’s like Madrid, people don’t expect them to be so good at the start, but they’re not doing badly. They’re two points ahead of Barcelona, and people still say it’s a bad season. I don’t understand that.”
He continued, “Every player and every team goes through tough moments, but they always come back. And as for Madrid, if I had to bet on who will win the Champions League again, I’d bet on Real Madrid because you never know what might happen.”
