The Director General, National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Brig-Gen. Johnson Olawunmi has stated that beginning from today, registration of prospective corps members will be done online.

Addressing Batch B corps members at the NYSC orientation camp in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Olawunmi said the next batch of corps members will not have to go to their respective institutions to collect call up letters, instead, they would simply log on to the NYSC portal, download and print the letters from there.

We are committed to ensuring that the scheme is fully digitized so that it can meet international standards”, he said.

On the involvement of corps members in the 2015 general elections, the NYSC DG said they will take active part in the process.

“No corps member should involve him/ herself in any act of misconduct and if anyone is caught receiving gratification from politicians, just to manipulate or give someone advantage, that person will not be spared. All necessary measures will be taken to guarantee your safety and security and you must be ready to face the challenges”, he said.

Speaking earlier, the state coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs Ruth Bakka, said they have registered 1,740 corps members for the exercise in the state.
