American singer Ciara, who touched down in Lagos on Thursday for the four-day Lagos Fashion Week 2025, says the city’s energy and fast-rising fashion culture motivated her visit.
During the closing gong ceremony at the Nigerian Exchange alongside Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ciara expressed excitement about showcasing Lagos to the world.
She said, “I will be using my platform to showcase the beauty of Lagos. My heart beats differently whenever I’m here. The city’s growth and creative energy are inspiring.”
Sanwo-Olu applauds Lagos Fashion Week’s influence
Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the event for helping position Lagos as Africa’s creative powerhouse, attracting investment and supporting young talent.
He said, “Our administration remains committed to supporting those pushing locally created brands to the global market,” adding that Lagos represents Nigeria’s potential to shape Africa’s economic future.
Lagos Fashion Week clocks 15 years
The 2025 edition marks the 15th anniversary of Lagos Fashion Week, themed “In Full Bloom”.
Running from October 29 to November 2, it features designers, models, and creatives from across Africa.
Sanwo-Olu also highlighted that the partnership between the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Exchange would open new global opportunities for fashion entrepreneurs.
