Spokesperson to Delta State police command ASP Charles Mouka this evening confirmed that a police initiative has led to the rescue of kidnapped Super Eagles midfielder , Christian Obodo.

ASP Mouka stated that some of the abductors were also arrested in an operation that tracked the kidnap gang to a forest about 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Warri where Mr. Obodo was kidnapped yesterday.
The Super Eagles midfielder was kidnapped Saturday morning at New Layout Road, off Jakpa Road, Effurun in Warri, Delta State.
His abductors had demanded a ransome of 150,000 Euros.
