Campaigners from ”#Bring Back Our Girls” march during a rally calling for the release of the Abuja school girls who were abducted by Boko Haram militants, in Abuja October 17, 2014.

Boko Haram’s purported dead leader Abubakar Shekau in a new video claims that the over 200 abducted Chibok girls have been married off.

Days ago, the Nigeria government claimed they had reached an agreement with the insurgents and that the girls would soon be freed.

With this statement the freedom of the girls is now in doubt.

The video obtained by Reteurs on Saturday claim that the girls are now married to Boko Haram fighters.

“We have married them off and they are all in their husbands’ houses,” the man claiming to be Shekau says.

“The over 200 Chibok girls have converted to Islam, which they confess is the best religion. Either their parents accept this and convert too or they can die.”

The majority of the kidnapped girls were Christians.

The authenticity of the man claim to be the leader of Boko Haram is in doubts.

In the video, the man’s face is difficult to see as he is filmed from a distance.

The video according to Reteurs was distributed using the same channel the insurgents had used for circulation of its video tapes for the past three years.
