Charles Soludo has announced that his administration has begun a major operation against fake pastors and prophets accused of staging false miracles to deceive residents in Anambra State.
Speaking at St. Patrick’s Cathedral during the All Knights Day event of the Catholic Diocese of Awka on Sunday, May 10, the governor revealed that several suspected fake clerics had already been arrested and were currently in custody.
Soludo accused some religious leaders of misleading vulnerable people through what he described as a “gospel of salvation without the cross.”
He also challenged individuals who claim to possess genuine miracle powers to prove themselves at Amaku Hospital instead of using public gatherings to attract followers.
“We have arrested fake pastors and bishops. Whoever wants to perform a miracle should come to Amaku Hospital,” the Governor stated, emphasizing his commitment to building a new, honest Anambra.
“The state has commenced an ongoing crackdown on fake pastors who exploit the vulnerable by preaching gospel of ‘salvation without the cross.’
As I speak now, several of them are already in custody and confessing. A new Anambra is in the offing, which must be clean and clear of such deception.
We’ve arrested fake pastors and bishops. Whoever wants to perform miracle should come to Amaku Hospital.” he said.
