Nigeria will spend more to maintain the office of the President in twenty-sixteen.

A breakdown of the twenty-sixteen budget, named Budget of Change reveals that the presidency will spend a total of  thirty-nine billion naira as against the twenty five billion naira spent by the outgone administration of Goodluck Jonathan budgeted.

If the National Assembly approves the budget, Buhari will likely spend one billion, four hundred and fifteen million, seven hundred and six thousand, one hundred and ninety-seven naira on both local and international travels and transportation, about five hundred  million more than  the nine hundred and forty-four million, six hundred and seventy-two thousand, one hundred and nine his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan estimated he would have spent.

In the budget of change, the Presidency will also spend three point six billion naira on a fleet of new BMW cars, likely meant for presidential aides.

Besides, one hundred and eighty-nine point million is voted for tyres for various vehicles, including the bulletproof and plain Mercedes Benz cars being used in the Presidency.

The purchase of C-Caution triangles, fire-extinguishers and cables is to cost twenty-seven million naira.
