Payments of special allowances to all security personnel posted to the the Aso Rock presidential villa has been stopped.

President Muhammadu Buhari allegedly ordered the end of perks such Risk and Hazard Allowance hitherto enjoyed by the agents.

In the past Naijalog, learnt that senior security officers assigned to the the Villa collected  between N75,000 and N50,000 while their junior ones received between N30,000 and N25,000 on a monthly basis.

Presidency sources revealed that  the ADC to the President, Lt. Col. Muhammed Abubakar, summoned sectional heads of all the security agencies manning different positions within the Villa to inform them of the presidential order which ‘decreed’ the stoppage of the allowance.

A source noted that the Chief Security Officer, Bashir Abubarkar, had written two letters to the National Security Adviser, Gen. Babagana Monguno(retd.) on the issue of the allowances, but was said to have been told that such allowance was illegal and that the President had asked that it be stopped.
