President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the service chiefs of the army, navy and air force, presidency spokesman, Femi Adesina told State House journalists on Monday.
The service chiefs who were relived of their appointments with immediate effect are Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Bade; Chief of Army Staff, Kenneth Minimah; Chief of Naval Staff, Usman Jibrin; Chief of Air Staff, Adesola Amosun.
He also fired the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.
The spokesman added that their replacements would be announced later on Monday. The move was widely anticipated as former general Buhari has made cracking down on Islamist militant group Boko Haram his number one priority.
