The presiding judge, Malam Aminu Sa’ad, convicted Ayuba of Point Z Beer Parlour, Tunga Maje, after she pleaded guilty to the two-count charge of joint act and theft.

Sa’ad, however, gave the convict an option of N40, 000 fine and reserved decision on compensation.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Haruna Danlami, told the court that sometime between May 19 and 20, the convict and her boyfriend had lodged at Bacom Guest Inn, Tunga Maje. He said the boyfriend’s name and address were still unknown.

According to Danlami, the convict and boyfriend drugged one Musa Elisha of Government Secondary School, Zuba, by administering some powdery substance in his drink which caused him to become unconscious.

He told the court that the duo thereafter took Elisha’s car key while he was unconscious and drove it away. Danlami said the convict was later arrested by the police following an investigation.
