A busy road in Hotoro area of Kano has been cordoned off after a bomb exploded there late Friday evening.
The explosion which occurred along Maiduguri road opposite NNPC filling station killed unspecified number of people and injured several others, Saharareporters claim.
Resident of the area said they heard a loud explosion which shook many buildings in the area.
A witness said that the explosion occurred at 7.20p.m., adding that many people buying fuel at the station sustained injuries.
The witness said there were sporadic gunshots after the explosion, which threw the area into confusion and for many residents to run for safety.
JTF spokesman, Capt. Eze Ekechukwu, confirmed the incident.
He, however, declined to give details but assured that investigation has commenced
