
Boko Haram released 27 hostages to Cameroon only after it got 20 of its members imprisoned in exchange, Agence France Presse (AFP) reports.
In a report online monitored by Naijalog’s correspondent, AFP quoting a government source, also reported that a ransom was paid to the terrorists to release their captives.
10 out of the hostages released Friday night were Chinese construction workers, others included Agnes Ali, wife of the deputy prime minister, Amadou Ali, children and women.
Most of the hostages were seized in separate raids between May and July this year.
