Controversial Nigerian socialite Bobrisky has lashed out at celebrities and high-profile associates who are quickly distancing themselves from luxury shopper Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, popularly known as ‘KayCee Luxury,’ following his recent arrest.
KayCee Luxury was apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for his alleged involvement in a massive international drug trafficking syndicate. The arrest came alongside the seizure of 184.5 kilograms of cocaine, valued at an estimated ₦39 billion. Shortly after the news went public, several of the businessman’s high-profile friends and former associates began publicly denying any personal relationships with him.
Bobrisky Exposes ‘Hypocrisy’ in the Entertainment Industry
Reacting to the rapid wave of denials on Instagram, Bobrisky condemned the behavior of these fair-weather friends, labeling them as ‘the biggest hypocrites.’ He pointed out how quickly people, particularly men, turn on their peers when trouble arises, despite having been eager to associate with them during better times.
Bobrisky wrote on his social media page, ‘Fear human beings, especially men! If you think men don’t secretly envy each other, then you are lying to yourself.’
A Pattern of Fair-Weather Friendships
The socialite clarified that he does not have a personal relationship with the accused luxury shopper. However, he expressed deep shock over how fast KayCee Luxury’s former circle transitioned from rolling with him in luxury spaces to publicly disowning him in his moment of crisis.
The incident has sparked a wider conversation on social media regarding the fleeting nature of celebrity friendships and the pressure to maintain a clean public image in the wake of high-profile criminal investigations.
