Controversial Nigerian crossdresser and popular social media figure, Idris Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky, has voiced strong disapproval regarding Nigeria’s latest surge in fuel prices, candidly labeling the country a “zoo” and urging its citizens to consider relocating abroad.
In a widely shared online post on Tuesday, September 15, Bobrisky conveyed his astonishment and disappointment over petrol now reportedly selling for up to N1,600 per litre in certain regions of the nation. He critically noted that despite Nigeria’s abundant natural resources, persistent poor management continues to inflict severe economic hardship on its populace.
The recent increase in fuel costs gained further traction following an adjustment by the Dangote Refinery, which on September 12, raised its petrol gantry price from N1,265 to N1,350 per litre. This development has compounded the financial woes of Nigerians, who are already struggling with escalating costs of living across various sectors.
Citing his personal experience of living abroad for two years, Bobrisky emphatically stated that situations like chronic fuel scarcity and abrupt price hikes are virtually non-existent outside Nigeria. He suggested that such volatile economic conditions are unique to the Nigerian context, prompting his advice for citizens to explore opportunities beyond the country’s borders.
