Blessing CEO has reacted to reports of the death of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, who reportedly passed away after battling stage 4 liver cancer.
According to reports, the actor died in a hospital in Lagos on Monday after privately fighting the illness for several months.
News of his death has continued to attract emotional reactions from fans, colleagues, and public figures within the entertainment industry.
Reacting through her Instagram page, Blessing CEO appeared to reference the controversy surrounding her own cancer claims earlier this year while mourning the actor.
Sharing a photo of the late actor, she wrote:
“God will punish cancer. We waited for u to show up. You fought silently. Rest in peace.”
Her post has since sparked conversations online, especially because of the public attention surrounding her previous health-related controversy.
Recall that in March 2026, Blessing CEO publicly sought financial support for what she claimed was stage 4 breast cancer treatment.
However, the claim later generated backlash after the Nigerian Medical Association accused her of allegedly using another patient’s medical report from Xinus Medical Diagnostics.
The report, reportedly signed by consultant pathologist Dr. O.A. Odigwe, later became the subject of public scrutiny after questions were raised about its authenticity.
Amid the controversy, social media activist VeryDarkMan reportedly submitted a petition approved by the Inspector-General of Police, requesting an investigation into the matter.
The reports surrounding Alex Ekubo’s death have also reignited conversations online about cancer awareness, transparency in public health discussions, and the emotional impact of terminal illnesses.
