Student stabs teacher for being questioned
INDIA: A 14-year-old student in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu sent the entire community into shock when he stabbed his Maths teacher for reprimanding him for coming late to class.
The grade nine student simply took out a knife and stabbed the teacher in a private school.
As the teacher collapsed, the tardy boy managed to run away from the school campus even though some of his classmates chased him, reports Press Trust of India.
The teacher was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him stable after a couple of days.
BRAZIL: A 23-year-old nurse allegedly made a fatal mistake when she injected coffee and milk into the veins of an 80-year-old patient at a clinic in Rio de Janeiro.
The elderly lady died after the student nurse made the grave error, Medical Daily reported. The nurse even defended her mistake in a television interview, and said “anyone can get confused.”
The nurse had only three days worth of experience and was still under training when the incident occurred. The patient died hours after the fluid was injected in her body.
According to Medical Daily, the nursing student told the media that she had not been trained in the procedure of administering the IV feed. She knew she was taking a risk.
“As they [the feed and blood drips] were next to each other, anyone can get confused,” Telles told Brazilian TV Globo’s Fantastico. “I injected the coffee, and I put it in the wrong place.”
The nurse has been indicted for manslaughter along with another professional nurse who was on duty at that time. The milky coffee apparently travelled straight into the patient’s heart after she was injected with it.
About half-a-glass of coffee was injected into the patient.
Man pours boiling water on teen sister-in-law to tame her
MALAYASIA: A man poured hot water over his sister-in-law, poked her with a heated fork and whipped her with a dog chain in a bid to teach her a lesson for what the man termed were her ‘wayward ways’.
The girl was admitted in a hospital and is undergoing treatment in Malaysia. The doctors were unable to give a list of her injuries as they were busy trying to save her, reports Harian Metro.
The teenager’s only crime was that she used to return home late at night after socialising. However, a hectic social life cannot be reason enough for the 40-year-old man to torture in such an inhuman way.
He was nabbed by the police after the authorities were tipped-off by the village headman.
Caught, thief pretends to be deaf, dumb
INDIA: A 44-year-old man had an offbeat profession. He used to travel a long distance to Mumbai in order to steal commuters’ baggage. He would return to his hometown after making enough.
The man’s modus operandi came to light when he stole a bag that contained Rs 1.12 lakh and the victim filed a police complaint. The police authorities zeroed in on the culprit after going through the CCTV footage which had retained a clear image of him, The Times of India reported.
Two months after that incident, a policeman patrolling a railway station saw the wanted man stealing another passenger’s baggage. He was immediately caught red-handed by the police.
Upon being grilled by the police, he revealed papers from a noted hospital that claimed that he was deaf and dumb.
However, further probe revealed that the papers were forged and he was neither deaf nor dumb.
