A video of Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye confronting a group of area boys who allegedly invaded her movie set to demand “settlement” has gone viral on social media.
The clip, shared on Thursday by user Usmanashafe, showed Bimbo standing firm as she challenged the men who reportedly asked for money because she was filming in their neighbourhood. “Settlement” is widely known as an extortion practice often targeted at movie crews working in public or community areas across Lagos.
Addressing the group, an upset Bimbo said she had no issue giving money willingly but would not accept anyone behaving as if they were entitled to it.
“I am a street girl, let me tell you. Ask around, when it comes to matters of the street, I like settling boys. But you don’t come to me and tell me to give you a certain amount,” she said.
When one of the men replied that he did not come to beg, the actress responded firmly.
“Yes, you came to beg. You are even being proud of it,” she said
The argument intensified after one of the boys allegedly threatened to turn off her camera. Ademoye immediately fired back:
“Camera that nobody in your generation has.”
