Former Big Brother Naija winner Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, is taking a decisive stand to protect her reputation. The reality TV star has initiated a massive ₦500 million lawsuit against popular content creator Carter Efe following controversial public claims regarding an intimate relationship between them.
How the Feud Escalated
The online drama began as a multi-sided clash involving content creator Davrel. The dispute initially sparked after streamer Davrel allegedly relayed disparaging remarks made by Carter Efe about Phyna. In response, Phyna publicly called out Davrel over an alleged unpaid debt, which quickly escalated into a heated back-and-forth.
The situation worsened when Davrel accused the BBNaija star of making advances toward him and asking to be introduced to his father. The conflict reached a boiling point during a separate live social media confrontation where Carter Efe boldly claimed he had been intimate with Phyna. When Phyna challenged his claims, Carter Efe insisted he would bring “the whole evidence” to the public, prompting Phyna’s swift warning: “You and Davrel will hear from my lawyer.”
Phyna Announces Legal Action
True to her word, Phyna confirmed during an emotional Instagram Live session that both Carter Efe and Davrel have officially been served with legal papers. Reflecting on her public image, she expressed deep regret over how her playful and highly reactive nature has often made her a target for disrespect in the entertainment industry.
“I know a lot of people say I’ve lost my self-respect. I have put myself down so much, and I think I finally realised that,” Phyna admitted to her fans. “I have stood different kinds of drags, but there are two types of drags that I can’t stand. One is what everybody knows, and the other one is a sexual and man issue. I do not move that way.”
A New Chapter of Accountability
Phyna revealed that she is moving away from online rants and will now rely on legal channels to handle defamation. She explained that her previous tendency to react impulsively online often overshadowed the actual wrongs done to her, making her look like the offender.
“This is the end of that Phyna,” she declared, adding a final warning to her detractors: “Carter Efe and Davrel, check your emails and WhatsApp. You’ve been served… When I’m done with Carter Efe and Davreal, this will be the last time anyone tries something like this with me.”
As the ₦500 million lawsuit moves forward, fans and industry onlookers are eagerly waiting to see how Carter Efe and Davrel will legally respond to these heavy allegations.
