Big Brother Naija Season 9 winner, Kellyrae, recently opened up about the emotional struggle he faced after losing all his money to gambling. In an honest conversation with Chude Jideonwo, the reality star revealed that the loss occurred just before his participation in the show.
Kellyrae shared how the experience led to a period of depression, where he even contemplated ending his relationship with Kassia, feeling guilty for not being able to provide for her. Despite the challenges, he acknowledged that she supported him through those tough times.
Kellyrae said, “I had some money but because I wanted more, the money was not enough; I started gambling with it and then lost it all. I was depressed. Every night, I was awake, thinking. Then she [Kassia] was the one who came to my rescue.
“I was thinking one day; I called her and said, let’s just break up. I feel I don’t have what it takes to really care for you because I feel guilty most of the time that there are things I’m supposed to be doing.”
