The winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has dismissed claims that she used a “pity strategy” to gain sympathy and votes during her time on the show.
In an interview with Arise TV, the 23-year-old reality star revealed that her entry into the Big Brother house was unplanned and happened in a rush.
“I didn’t come in with a pity strategy. I didn’t even believe I was going to be picked for the show. When I got the mail, I had only a few days to pack. I was in Ijebu at the time, and I brought all the costumes I took to that location to my sister, then we started planning,” she explained.
Imisi Speaks on Her Outfits and Authenticity
Addressing conversations about her outfits, Imisi clarified that her wardrobe choices on the show reflected her real-life style rather than a calculated attempt to shape public perception.
“I didn’t have time to go home, and even if I did, I feel like it’s just a few things I’d have taken because most of the outfits I wore in the house are what I usually wear outside. That’s just me,” she said.
She emphasized that her goal throughout the competition was to stay authentic and allow viewers to connect with her true self instead of crafting a dramatic or emotional narrative.
Imisi’s Big Win
Imisi was crowned the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, themed 10/10, on October 5, 2025. She took home the ₦150 million grand prize, securing her spot as one of the most notable winners in the show’s history.
