Bain, a 23-year-old member of the K-pop group Just B, has made headlines after publicly coming out as gay during a concert in Los Angeles.
His emotional revelation came while performing a solo on stage, marking a bold and rare moment in the tightly controlled and often conservative Korean entertainment industry.
“I’m proud to be part of the LGBTQ+ community—as a gay person,” Bain declared, met with overwhelming cheers from the audience.
He went on to offer a heartfelt message: “To anyone in the LGBTQ+ community, or still on their journey of self-discovery—this is for you. You are seen, you are loved, and you were born this way.”
As reported by Korean media outlet News1, Bain is now recognized as the first male K-pop idol to openly come out.
Following the performance, fellow band member Siwoo shared his support in a fan community, writing: “I was watching backstage, and I cried too. Knowing how tough this was for him made me cry even harder.”
