Yoruba movie actor Baba Ijesha has been released after spending more than three years in prison.
His freedom was confirmed on November 14, 2025, through an Instagram update shared by Yomi Fabiyi.
Baba Ijesha was originally handed a 16-year sentence in 2022.
What Yomi Fabiyi Revealed
In his post, Fabiyi explained that the Appeal Court overturned the defilement charge against Baba Ijesha.
Fabiyi, who was actively involved throughout the trial, frequently shared updates online and continued to defend the actor during the case.
In a detailed Instagram write-up, he described the entire process as a “charade”, insisting that there was no proof the girl involved was 14 at the time. He also accused Princess of setting up hidden cameras, calling it child exploitation, and claimed another associate, Damola Adekola, was briefly detained but later freed despite supposedly being involved with the minor.
The allegations against Baba Ijesha surfaced after a teenager under his supervision accused him of sexual misconduct. Her foster mother, the comedian known as Princess, brought the matter to the public and presented evidence, which led to the court case.
Baba Ijesha was convicted in 2022 for sexual assault and indecent treatment. The Appeal Court later upheld those charges but struck out the defilement count.
