Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president in 2023, has responded to Atiku Abubakar’s (PDP) call for him to join the “justice” movement around President Bola Tinubu’s certificate dispute.
According to Naija News, Atiku asked Chicago State University (CSU) to release President Tinubu’s diploma so he could use it to support his Supreme Court appeal.
Due to concerns that the certificate Tinubu gave to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) might not be genuine, the former vice president sorted the credentials.

Atiku encouraged Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join him in obtaining the truth regarding Tinubu’s academic credentials at a press conference he gave on Thursday in Abuja after the University released the certificate.
But in response to the former Vice President’s request, Obi stated that Atiku should pursue Chicago’s lawsuit alone because he should be concentrating on his Supreme Court appeal.
Through the head of the Obi-Datti media office, Diran Onifade, Obi explained to Daily Trust on Thursday how he and Atiku are approaching the Supreme Court in distinct ways.

“All I can say is that we’re here at the Supreme Court of Nigeria as separate entities,” he added. That’s where things stand right now.Atiku’s case is CSU. Only the two of us are present at the Supreme Court.
