Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has expressed optimism about the possibility of turning things around against Arsenal in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash in Spain.
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s LaLiga fixture against Alaves on Sunday, Ancelotti acknowledged the 3-0 defeat to the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium but emphasized that a comeback at the Santiago Bernabéu is still within reach.
“We will try,” the Italian tactician said when asked whether his side could pull off a comeback in the return leg. “Real Madrid is the only team that has achieved this kind of turnaround multiple times, and we’ll aim to do it again.”
Ancelotti highlighted the importance of home advantage and the passionate support of Madrid fans:
“We know how much our fans and the stadium can push us. We will fight until the final minute, until the final ball—starting tomorrow.”
The second leg will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday, with Los Blancos needing to overturn a three-goal deficit to advance.
