Abia State governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has said he is confident that the five governors who defected from the PDP to the APC will return back to the PDP following the emergence of Muazu as the new party chairman, saying that efforts are in progress to ensure they return back.
He expressed the optimism while speaking to news men at the Abia state government house shortly after returning from the inauguration of the new PDP national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, in Abuja.
He said “The new chairman has already set his priority to re-engineer the party so that it still maintains its status as first among equals, and then for the party to win elections because the ultimate aim of any political party is to win elections.
“He will do all those things that will make the party win and bring back our aggrieved colleagues.
“We are reaching out to them; the party is making effort, the governors are reaching out and there is hope that they will return to the fold.”
