Alleged Sex scandal: US Ambassador has no evidence – Foreign Affairs Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama Thursday said that there had not been any sufficient evidence to prove that the three members of the House of Representatives accused of sexual misconduct really committed the crime.

The Minister who stated this when he appeared before the House of Representatives Ethics and Privilege Committee and House Committee on Foreign Relations public investigative hearing in Abuja, also disclosed that the outgone United States of American Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle had tendered apology for breaching the diplomatic protocol by writing direct to the Speaker Yakubu Dogara over the allegation instead of passing through the Foreign affairs ministry.

The three members facing allegation of sexual misconduct according to the letter from the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria to the Speaker, House of Representatives, are Mohammed Garba Gololo (APC, Bauchi); Samuel Ikon (PDP, Akwa Ibom) and Mark Gbillah (APC, Benue).
