Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, captivated guests with a mix of humor and heartfelt words during the wedding of singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi (Tosin Ajibade) and billionaire heiress Temi Otedola in Iceland.
As Chairman of the ceremony, Dangote called the Nordic nation “a very special place,” admitting it was his first visit. He joked that he had slept through most of his stay but canceled other commitments just to be present, emphasizing how dear Temi was to the family.
Turning to the groom, he praised Mr Eazi’s humility and business acumen, expressing surprise at the scale of his ventures spanning 18 African countries. He described him as “calm, grounded, and a rare mix of artist and businessman,” adding that Temi was fortunate to have such a partner.
Speaking about the bride, Dangote admired her independence and drive, recalling her determination to build her own path instead of depending on her father’s wealth. He called her “entrepreneurial, strong, and focused,” qualities he said would serve her in marriage.
Sharing advice with the couple, Dangote encouraged them to resolve issues privately, remain united, and limit outside interference. With a playful touch, he promised to host a grand celebration for their first child within a year — possibly in London, Miami, or even back in Iceland.
He concluded by applauding Femi Otedola, Temi’s father, for organizing such a remarkable wedding, describing it as “the wedding of the year” and a truly historic occasion.
