Alicia Keys who is expecting her second child with husband Swizz Beatz – has been in the recording studio with her spouse and other collaborators and is thrilled by the ‘outrageous’ songs they have produced for her yet-untitled new album.
She told Billboard: ‘It’s been done by what we call ourselves ‘Illuminaries’. It’s actually the four of us: myself, Swizz, Mark Batson and Harold Lilly.
‘Crazy outrageous music, outrageous lyrics. Just really, for me, the best music I’ve ever done yet.
‘I love what’s happening, what’s coming, I feel really humbled and blessed by the experience. It’s a lot deeper and there’s more clarity to it and I just can’t wait.’
Alicia recently debuted the album’s lead single, ‘We Are Here’, and she is happy to have already had a good response to the song’s ‘powerful’ message.
She explained: ‘We Are Here’ is just really about how we can all be together. We’re going through witnessing what’s happening in the world and feeling overwhelmed or feeling inspired to do something about it or whatever the case.
‘And so this song really talks about all that and somehow it allows us to have this dialogue about why are you here.
‘I think that’s been really powerful. People have been responding to it. I’m looking forward to continuing to spread that dialogue, that conversation.’
