The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has heaped praise on Victor Osimhen following his stellar performance in Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Benin Republic on Saturday.
Osimhen found the back of the net as the Super Eagles triumphed over the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying opener in Uyo.
The 25-year-old replaced Victor Boniface in the 72nd minute and wasted no time, scoring Nigeria’s second goal just six minutes later.
Osimhen fired the ball into the net after receiving an assist from Wilfred Ndidi.
CAF celebrated the powerful striker on social media, acknowledging his impact on the game.
“Only 6 minutes were needed to open his account for the season.” they wrote on X.
“@victorosimhen9 simply can’t be stopped.”
