Veteran Nollywood actor, Kayode Odumosu, better known as Pa Kasumu has intimated that he was no longer interested in travelling to India to receive treatment for a heart-related ailment that also affected his memory and eyesight. The actor recently admitted that he had got a new passport from officials of the Immigration Service in Abeokuta after previously saying that he couldn’t travel because he misplaced his passport).
The actor, who has been absent from the movie scene since he fell ill two years ago, revealed that towards the end of 2016, he received some financial assistance from some well-meaning Nigerians. He had previously received cash donations of N12million and N3million towards his treatment from former Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola and his Ogun state counterpart respectively.
The actor has now confessed that his condition has improved slightly and that his vision has improved due to constant use of eye drops and he no longer feels pain in his body. He added that his main reason for forgetting about returning to India was his reluctance to ask for more donations from Nigerians.
“I don’t want people to think that I’m disturbing them by making another request for financial assistance,” he said.
He currently receives treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
Well, to me, it looked like he wanted to leave the money for his children as a legacy. Probably with a message: Don’t squander this. I died so you might have it.
May God heal him completely.
