The Lagos State Police Force has named the assistant nurse who gave Mohbad an injection as the singer’s main suspect, according to The Cable News.
Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of the Lagos State Police, announced this news during a press conference on Friday afternnon.
Questions have been raised about the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, which happened on September 12, 2023, after he received an injection from an unidentified nurse.
The police formed a 19-person team to carry out a covert investigation, covering elements including exhumation, autopsy, scene inspection, medical reports, records of suspects, and witness statements in response to public indignation and demands for a thorough probe.
Mohbad sought nursing care at home after learning that the nurse who treated him for alleged injuries had already been detained by the Lagos State Police Command.
James Aloba, Mohbad’s father, had doubts regarding the auxiliary nurse who gave the injection, speculating that it might have contributed to his son’s deteriorating health.
In addition, the Lagos State Council of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) demanded a comprehensive investigation into Mohbad’s death and made it clear that the person who gave the injection wasn’t a registered nurse.
