The National Hospital, Abuja, is overwhelmed with the number of blast victims it has had to deal with in recent times.
Thursday night’s blast at Nyanya, near Abuja, has compounded the problem, according to the hospital’s spokesman, Dr Tayo Haastrup, who said nine persons were receiving treatment.
He said medical personnel have been mobilised to attend to the injured and many of them have been stabilised. He, however, said the hospital was finding it difficult to cope with the number since it has still some victims of the last explosion on admission.
Two victims of the Thursday blast would be moved to Federal Staff Hospital, he told NAN.
Naijalog also learnt that some of the victims are receiving treatment at Asokoro General Hospital. The National Hospital has confirmed that six dead bodies are at the hospital’s mortuary.
