Abdul Samad Rabiu, Nigeria’s second wealthiest person, has surpassed South African billionaire Nicky Oppenheimer in net worth, moving him to third place in Africa with a net worth of more than $8.6 billion.
His net worth has climbed by more than $3.7 billion in the last year, growing from $4.9 billion to its present figure.
Rabiu is currently trailed only by Aliko Dangote, another Nigerian billionaire, and Johann Rupert, a South African billionaire.
Rabiu’s net worth has increased significantly three months after surpassing the $8 billion barrier, cementing his status as Africa’s third richest person.
Meanwhile, Nicky Oppenheimer, whose family’s diamond mining company, De Beers, is his primary source of wealth, has an estimated net worth of $8.4 billion at the time of writing.
