8-Year-Old Girl, Others Injured As FRSC Official Throws Stone Into Moving Vehicle

An 8-year-old girl and other 5 passengers have reportedly sustained serious injuries after an official of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Sokoto State, allegedly hurled stones into a moving commercial vehicle.

Reports stated that the incident which occurred along Western Bye-pass in Sokoto left six persons including the little girl with serious injuries.

According to Dailytrust, the official in an attempt to make the driver stop for proper inspection, hurled stones on the moving vehicle.

The driver, Muhammad Sanusi who narrated how it started to the daily, said that he was driving from Silame local government area to Sokoto metropolis, adding that he met some FRSC officials who asked him to stop.

Sanusi said that he was trying to park properly, before one of the officials who thought he wanted to run, picked a big stone and threw it at him. The stone reportedly hit him on his right hand as a result, he lost control of the vehicle.

Confirming the reports, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Almustapha Sani, said that the police is still gathering information about the incident.
