Thirty seven members of the House of Representatives, elected on the plartform of ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the opposition All Prpgressive Congress (APC).
The speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal, announced the defectionWednesday morning at the House sitting.
A full list of members who defected is being awaited. With the crisis of so called new and old PDP, it is yet unclear whether the APC has garnered enough number to be in majority in the lower house.
Changes are however expected in some key positions in the house.
Most of the lawmakers are supporters of the five governors who had earlier decamped from PDP to APC. They are Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto) and Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Musa Kwankwaso (Kano),
