The police on Thursday arraigned a 35-year-old woman, Vitoria Kalio, of Alibaba Crescent, Jabi, FCT, at a Senior Magistrate’s Court in Wuse 2, Abuja, for abducting a policeman.

Kalio was charged with insulting apoliceman, criminal force, assault and mischief.

The prosecutor, Abdullahi Mohammed, told the court that the accused, who drove a Nissan Murano Jeep with number plate GWA 321 DP, was stopped by Sgt. Isukwa Lornonge, who was on night duty.

Mohammed said after stopping, Lorninge entered her car and Kalio drove off with him and took him to an unknown destination.

He said ASP. Joseph Adikwu and his team, while on night patrol around Wuse 2, received a distress call that a woman abducted Lornonge from his duty post and took him to an unknown destination.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened the Penal Code.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty and denied all the allegations.

The Magistrate, Aminu Eri, granted the accused bail for N10,000 with a surety and ordered that the surety must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction.
