Worsening economic situation in the country may soon force, the Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited( SAHCOL) to lay off no fewer than two hundred and fifty workers, Mr. Basil Agboarumi , SAHCOL’s General Manager, Corporate Communication, has revealed.
Agboarumi who expressed sadness over the imminent sack, said the company would take on the issue with human face and informed that discussions were still ongoing with the workers unions on the final decision it would take on the matter.
“There are discussions ongoing with the workers, but one thing I can assure you is that there is a need for us to downsize at the moment. Every organisation is downsizing.
“The representatives of the staff saw reasons with us. It’s either we do it or nobody will be in business. There is a need for us to go this direction. However, we have not come out with a decision yet,” Agboarumi said.
