“It Was Cut” – Phyna Threatens Lawsuit After Edited Clip Nearly Causes Legal Battle with MultiChoice
Reality TV star Josephine “Phyna” Otabor has come out to aggressively debunk claims that she recently accused Big Brother Naija organizers of owing her the ₦100 million grand prize. She alleges that a viral clip from her Twitch livestream was maliciously edited by bloggers to twist her narrative.
The Misunderstanding
The controversy began earlier this week when a video surfaced suggesting the Level Up winner was once again crying out over unpaid winnings. However, Phyna clarified that her comments were taken completely out of context. She explained that she was actually responding to trolls who mocked her for becoming a streamer, asking if her prize money had “finished.”
She stated:
“They keep cutting my video. I never said I have not received my 100 million naira. I was only talking to people who asked me if the 100 million has finished.”
Near-Legal Crisis
Phyna revealed that the manipulated video almost landed her in significant legal trouble with the show’s producers. The organizers were reportedly displeased with the implication that they were still indebted to her. To resolve the issue, she had to contact them immediately and provide the full, unedited footage as proof of her innocence.
She explained:
“I told them to watch the complete video. It was cut. People are doing it intentionally,”
Warning to Bloggers
Consequently, Phyna has issued a stern warning to social media handlers and bloggers who manipulate her content for engagement. She vowed to take legal action against anyone whose editing causes her reputational or legal damage in the future.
She cautioned:
“Anybody who cuts my video to twist it—if it brings any problem, I will sue,”
