Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Joseph Dosu has sent a strong message to Stanley Nwabali, reminding him that no player is above the national team.
Dosu’s comment comes amid backlash directed at Nwabali following his performance in Nigeria’s 2-1 win over Lesotho in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday.
The Chippa United shot-stopper faced criticism after a late error almost cost the Super Eagles three vital points at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. The 29-year-old mishandled a corner kick, allowing Lesotho’s Hlompho Kalake to pull one back in the closing minutes.
Reacting after the match, Dosu took to X to share his thoughts, writing:
“No goalkeeper, I repeat no goalkeeper that’s bigger than NIGERIA. My advice to you is to remain focused at this crucial time. Stay concentrated and committed.”
