Popular Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has spoken out in response to a viral video showing an older woman giving her an unfriendly glare at the wedding of Priscilla Ojo and her Tanzanian husband.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, featured Wumi enjoying herself and posing for photos at the star-studded celebration. However, a particular moment drew viewers’ attention—an elderly woman appearing to throw a cold, disapproving look in Wumi’s direction, completely ignoring her.
Unaware of the incident until the clip went viral, Wumi addressed it during a live video, voicing her confusion and disappointment over the woman’s demeanor.
“Why the hostility? What did I do wrong?” she asked. “Outside of the characters I play in movies, I don’t even know this woman. I stay in my lane and mind my business.”
She speculated that the woman might have mistaken her on-screen roles for her actual personality, a common issue among some viewers.
“She paused when she saw me—I thought maybe her eyelashes got in her eye or something—but then I realized it was just a judgmental look. Whatever negative thoughts she has about me, may it reflect back on her children. God knows I’ve never wronged her,” Wumi concluded.
As of now, the identity of the woman remains unknown, and she has yet to respond to the buzz surrounding the clip.
